Milan - Inter Milan managed to achieve a sweet result in the first leg of the Champions League semifinals. The Nerazzurri overthrew their city rivals, AC Milan, with a score of 2-0.
AC Milan Vs Inter Milan took place at the San Siro Stadium, Thursday (11/5/2023) in the morning WIB. All of Inter's goals were scored in the first half through Edin Dzeko and Henrikh Mkhitaryan.
Inter will take turns as host in the second leg which will roll out in the middle of next week. An aggregate advantage of 2-0 can certainly make Simone Inzaghi's team confident of advancing to the final.
Inter managed to lead 1-0 first when the game has been running for eight minutes. Edin Dzeko tore Mike Maignan's goal after receiving a corner from Hakan Calhanoglu.
Milan caught off guard after the goal and had to fall silent again. Inter led 2-0 in the 11th minute after Henrikh Mkhitaryan freely entered the penalty box after receiving Federico Dimarco's pass.
Inter had two golden opportunities in the 15th minute. First through Hakan Calhanoglu's shot from outside the penalty box which hit the post and Mkhitaryan's shot was dammed by Maignan.
Milan tried to put pressure on Inter. However, until the game had run for half an hour there had been no attempts made by Stefano Pioli's team.
Inter were awarded a penalty in the 31st minute after Lautaro Martinez fell when touched by Simon Kjaer. Referee Jesus Gil then overturned his decision after looking at the VAR.
Milan are very solid at the back. This made Milan seem to have lost his mind when he was in the final third of the opponent's defense.
There was no reply from Milan until halftime. Inter in a position to lead 2-0.
